DAY 1 – Cappadocia > Kahta (L)
Depart from your hotel in Cappadocia. We begin heading east and make a short photo stop at Incesu Caravansarai. We will also get a magnificent view of Mt.Erciyes near Kayseri. Lunch and tea break. We will stop in Kahramanmaras for a taste of Turkey’s most famous ice cream. Arrival in Kahta, near the mountian, check in hotel, dinner and overnight stay in Kahta

 

DAY 2 – Kahta > Mt. Nemrut > Harran > Urfa (B-L)
Rise early for the drive and the walk up to the summit of Mount Nemrut. See the magnificent relics of the tumulus of the Commagene King Antiochus Epipanes I at top of Mt. Nemrut (2150m above sea-level) located near Adiyaman and Malatya. The amazing statues of the gods on the Nemrut summit make it a very impressive site. View a fantastic sunrise from the East Terrace. Visit the East and West terraces, fire altar, statues, of Apollo, Zeus, Hercules, Tyche and Antiochus Epipanes I, tumulus, and see the world’s first horoscope. Descend down the mountain through small villages and beautiful scenery. Stop in Arsemia to see the old castle and remains of the bridge made during the time of Alexander the Great, then cross the Cendere Roman Bridge built by Septimus Severus in the 2nd century AD and still in use! Visit Karakus, which is the tumulus of the royal Commagene women and features columns with eagle and relief. Breakfast and free time. After breakfast we will drive to Harran, city of the prophet Abraham. We will walk through the village with its fortress, old islamic school and beehive shaped adobe houses. Experience the village life. We continue to Sanli Urfa for lunch and then a view of the castle with Roman columns. Visit Mevlid Halil Mosquee and the cave of Prophet Abraham. Halil Rahman mosque and the sacred fish pool. Time permitting a chance to wander in the old Bazaar.

DAY 3 – SanliUrfa > Cappadocia (B-L-D)
After breakfast, we will depart from Sanliurfa and continue to Birecik for a view of the fortress, and then cross the Euphrates River. Birecik is known for the nearly extinct Bald Ibis . After Lunch private transfer to Diyarbakır (2hr)
Overnight stay in Diyarbakır

 

DAY 4 – Diyarbakır > Mardin (B-L-D)
Today we will visit the most famous City walls of Diyarbakır which are famous for their length of 5,5 meters which make them second only in length to the Great Wall of China have a height of 7-8 meters. The walls which are an excellent example of the middle age military architecture are embellished with inscriptions and reliefs. Some parts of the Diyarbakır City walls the construction date and constructor of which are not known have been enlarged and restored by the Roman Emperor Constantine in 349 AD. The walls which were restored and strengthened with some additions by other states who ruled over the city could survive until the present day. Today the city walls of Diyarbakır surround old Diyarbakır, called Suriçi now, in form of a turbot. On the walls there are inscriptions belonging to 12 civilizations. The length of the walls which are suggested to be built by the Hurris who reigned in the city in the year 3000 BC is 5 meters. After city walls we will visit Caravansarai Place. After the Place

DAY 5 – Mardin > Istanbul (B)
After breakfast we will visit the ancient Saffron Monastery

, an important religious site for Syriac Christians.
Airport transfer and Flight from Mardin to Istanbul.
